Our week in Le Marche samples both city life and “country life.” We begin in the city of Ascoli Piceno, the capital of southern Le Marche, with two of the most charming piazzas in Italy. Throughout our week together, we explore the delicious food and tasty wine of the region, visiting wonderful hill towns, and enjoying what we think are some of the most beautiful vistas in Italy. We end our tour at agriturismo Locanda della Valle Nuova, in northern Le Marche, where Giulia, the charming owner/manager, provides a relaxing environment from which to finish our explorations of wonderful Le Marche.
- Day 1: Arrive Ascoli Piceno, hotel check-in, appertivi in Piazza dell Popolo, dinner
- Day 2: Lunch in the country, wine-tasting at Il Cantine Castignano, dinner
- Day 3: Visit the town of Offida, and wine-tasting in the morning, Ascoli in afternoon, dinner
- Day 4: Depart Ascoli, visit a cheesemaker in Jesi, arrive Locanda della Valle Nuova, dinner
- Day 5: Palazzo Ducale, Urbino, lunch, shopping, dinner
- Day 6: Mondavio and the Furlo Gorge
- Day 7: Urbania, lunch at Il Cuocco, tour departure dinner
- Day 8: Departure
